In the election for the Vice President position of the Chamber of Commerce, a prominent figure in the city’s business and industrial circles, Ravi Raj Desai achieved a resounding victory with a substantial majority. His opponent, Nitin Bharucha, faced a decisive defeat in the election results, and his security deposit was also forfeited.
A total of 2505 votes were cast in the election, of which 18 were declared invalid. Thus, out of 2486 valid votes counted, Ravi Raj Desai received 1887 votes, while Nitin Bharucha secured only 599 votes. Following this victory by a significant margin, there has been widespread discussion within the business community regarding support for Ravi Raj Desai.
According to sources, before the election, various names for the Vice President position were discussed among several prominent members. Attempts were made to reach a consensus on the names of Nitin Bharucha and Navalohia, but ultimately, Ravi Raj Desai’s name was approved as the candidate acceptable to all parties.
