Amnesty Scheme Offers Excellent Opportunity for Industries to Settle Cases Outside Court: SPREE Scheme Provides Insurance Coverage to Eligible Workers Without Old Dues
Surat. The South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a seminar on ESIC’s SPREE and Amnesty schemes at Samahiti in Sarasana.
The objective of this seminar was to create awareness among industry members about the provisions, benefits, and compliance procedures of both these schemes.
Speaking on the SPREE scheme, it was explained that SPREE (Scheme for Promoting Registration of Employers and Employees) aims to voluntarily connect industries with ESIC.
It was informed that under this scheme, institutions and employees who are not yet affiliated with ESIC can register without any demand for old dues. This initiative will benefit such new employers and employees who will not have any previous liabilities.
Detailed information was provided about the Amnesty Scheme. It was explained that the Amnesty Scheme will be effective from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026. Under this scheme, industries will get an opportunity to settle pending cases outside court, allowing them to regularize their old liabilities without punitive consequences.
It was stated that this initiative has been launched with the objective of strengthening the social security framework and providing convenience to industries in compliance.
It was further explained that even in case of job loss, workers registered under ESIC can receive various benefits. The educational and health benefits available to children of workers employed in ESIC medical colleges were also highlighted.
At the beginning of the seminar, a welcome address was delivered where participants were greeted. The program concluded with a question-answer session where entrepreneurs and members asked questions related to the practical implementation of the schemes.
A large number of entrepreneurs, industry representatives, and chamber members were present on this occasion. The program proved to be an important step towards strengthening dialogue and cooperation between the industry and government departments.
