A team of students from the Faculty of Engineering in Shubra at Benha University achieved a global achievement by securing third place worldwide in the Siemens Global SIMARIS Challenge 2026, with participation from over 700 students from 44 countries.

Higher Education: Engineering Students from Shubra, Benha University, Win Third Place Worldwide in the Siemens Global SIMARIS Challenge 2026

The achievement came through a project to design a smart electrical infrastructure for a data center dedicated to artificial intelligence applications, according to the latest global standards, relying on advanced solutions in the fields of electrical power distribution, smart monitoring, energy analysis, and predictive maintenance.

The team included students: Mohamed Sayed Abdo Mahmoud, and Mustafa Mahmoud Mohamed Mahmoud from the Faculty of Engineering in Shubra at Benha University, and Ahmed Mohamed Sayed from the Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University.

This achievement reflects the distinguished level of Egyptian university students and their ability to compete internationally in modern technological and engineering fields, supporting the state’s direction toward building a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy.
