Bandung –
The five daily prayers are an obligatory act of worship that Muslims must perform every day throughout their lives.
In Surah Al Baqarah, verse 43, Allah SWT calls upon His servants to establish prayer and give alms. He says:
Meaning: “And establish prayer, give alms, and bow with those who bow.” (QS. Al Baqarah: 43)
Prayer also brings many benefits to Muslims. According to a hadith narrated by Ahmad, from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar radhiyallahu ‘anhuma, the Messenger of Allah SAW reminded about prayer one day, then said,
Meaning: “Whoever maintains the prayers will receive light, guidance, and salvation on the Day of Resurrection. But whoever does not maintain the prayers will receive no light, guidance, or salvation. On the Day of Resurrection, they will be gathered with Qarun, Pharaoh, Haman, and Ubay bin Khalaf.” (HR Ahmad)
