Chemical-Pharma Expo, Smart Education Expo, and Start-up Summit Draws Large Crowds on Day One
Surat. The South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) has inaugurated four historic mega events at the Sarsana International Exhibition and Convention Center in Surat. These include the Chemical-Pharma Expo, Smart Education Expo, Business Expo, and Surat Start-up Summit.
Organized in association with Torin Wealth Management, these events started on May 22, 2026, and will run for three days from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. A large number of representatives from industry, education, and business sectors attended the inauguration ceremony.
In his welcome address, the Chamber President stated that this organization, which started with just 16 members in 1940, now has about 150 associations and over 14,500 members. He noted that the Chamber has set a new record by organizing 22 exhibitions this year.
Chemexil’s high-tech office to open soon in Surat
The Chief Guest at the event, the President of Chemexil, said that India’s chemical and pharma industry is rapidly advancing on a global scale. He announced that Chemexil’s high-tech office will soon be launched in Surat.
He mentioned that Chemexil has over 4,000 members nationwide, of which about 2,000 are from South Gujarat alone. He also stated that the central government is preparing a simplified and comprehensive narcotics policy regarding drug exports, in which industrialists from Surat and South Gujarat will play an important role.
Emphasis on integration of industry and education
At the inauguration of the Smart Education Expo, the Vice Chancellor of VNSGU emphasized the need for better coordination between industry and education.
He said that Surat’s diamond, textile, pharma, and aviation sectors require youth with modern technical skills. Every year, about 50,000 students graduate from the university, and if they are trained according to industry needs, they can significantly contribute to industrial development.
Excellent response on the first day
A special guest at the event praised the Chamber for organizing four major events simultaneously.
Finally, the Chamber’s Vice President expressed gratitude and expressed hope that the Chemical and Pharma Expo will be organized on a larger scale in the future.
Several industrialists and business representatives were present on this occasion.
All four events received an excellent response from the industry and youth on the very first day. Organizers expect a large number of visitors to attend these mega events over the weekend.
