A young orphaned woman was gang-raped under the pretense of being offered a role in a film.
Hyderabad: In an incident that came to light late in the jurisdiction of Jubilee Hills police station, some young men lured an orphaned young woman by promising her a chance in a film shoot and then sexually assaulted her. According to Jubilee Hills police, four days ago, some young men approached two orphaned young women living near Jubilee Hills metro station and took one of them away by promising her a role in a film shoot.
The men took the orphaned young woman to their house in Secunderabad, held her captive for two days, and gang-raped her. After that, on May 16, they dropped her off at Jubilee Hills metro station via an auto-rickshaw. After she returned to the station, the other young woman she lived with saw injury marks on her body and questioned her. The victim then told her about the heinous act committed against her. After the other young woman encouraged her, the victim went to the police station yesterday and filed a complaint about the incident.
Police have registered a case and are trying to identify the accused young men based on video footage from CCTV cameras installed near the metro station. Police have registered a case of gang rape and started an investigation. Police have claimed that the accused will be arrested soon based on the video footage. Police have sent the young woman to a government hospital for a medical examination and have also recorded her statement.
