For the second consecutive year, the exam to select the national team for the International Artificial Intelligence (AI) Olympiad in 2026 was accompanied by providing an exam platform on the GPU cloud computing infrastructure of FPT AI Factory.

The opening ceremony took place at Hanoi University of Education on May 20. This year’s exam attracted 1,188 contestants registering for the preliminary round from 32 units nationwide (28 Departments of Education and Training and 4 universities). From there, 246 outstanding contestants were selected to participate in the team selection round.

The exam aims to select 8 representative students to represent Vietnam at the International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad in 2026, while also creating a high-quality academic playground, encouraging students to develop research and creative abilities in the field of AI.

In the selection round, contestants programmed directly on computers to solve AI problems oriented by the IOAI International Scientific Council, focusing on areas such as machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, computer vision, natural language processing, and audio.

According to the organizers, contestants used the exam system and GPU cloud computing infrastructure provided by the organizers; the exams were automatically graded through public and internal testing systems over a period of 360 minutes.

In its accompanying role, FPT provided GPU cloud computing infrastructure on its platform, meeting requirements for computing power, stability, and synchronous operation for a national-scale exam approaching international standards.

FPT representatives also participated in the Exam Council and provided professional support, contributing to ensuring the quality and objectivity of the exam. An FPT representative shared: “For FPT, people are the foundation of digital transformation and AI transformation. Investing in education and the younger generation is investing in Vietnam’s future.”
