In July 2025, the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue increased by 9.3% compared to the same period last year, with retail sales of goods rising by 7.8% year-on-year.
According to the General Statistics Office (Ministry of Finance), trade and tourism activities maintained positive growth, with estimated total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue at current prices in July reaching 576.4 trillion VND, up 1.1% from the previous month and 9.2% year-on-year.
Within this, revenue from food and foodstuff groups increased by 9.9% year-on-year; apparel rose by 7.9%; household equipment and tools grew by 7.1%; accommodation and food services surged by 16.3%; and travel services expanded by 12.6%.
In the first seven months of 2025, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue at current prices were estimated at 3,993.4 trillion VND, up 9.3% compared to the same period last year (which saw an 8.9% increase in 2024). Excluding price factors, the growth was 7.1% (compared to 6.2% in the same period in 2024).
Specifically, retail sales of goods in the first seven months of 2025 were estimated at 3,049.6 trillion VND, accounting for 76.4% of the total and increasing by 7.8% year-on-year. Notably, food, cultural, and educational goods rose by 9.4%; apparel increased by 6.4%; and household equipment and tools grew by 5.5%.
Several localities recorded high retail sales growth in the first seven months of 2025 compared to the same period last year: Đà Nẵng (9.1%), Hải Phòng (8.4%), Ho Chi Minh City (8.2%), Hanoi (8%), and Cần Thơ (7.8%).
