The eighth China Western International Investment and Trade Fair will be held in Chongqing from May 21 to 24. This year’s event will feature a dedicated exhibition area for producer services for the first time, linked with the industrial integration development zone. It will showcase cutting-edge achievements in low-carbon environmental protection, modern logistics, inspection and testing, financial services, industrial design, high-end manufacturing, and health, promoting the co-display and mutual empowerment of manufacturing and services.

The theme of this year’s fair is “New West, New Manufacturing, New Services.” It will include nearly 40 events such as an opening ceremony, themed activities, investment and trade matchmaking, and consumption promotion. The United Kingdom has been invited as the guest country of honor, Sichuan Province as the permanent guest province, and Gyeonggi Province in South Korea as the guest city of honor.

The fair will have four main exhibition areas: comprehensive image, producer services, industrial integration development, and international and regional cooperation, covering a total area of 110,000 square meters. It will systematically present landmark achievements in Chongqing’s construction of the “33618” modern manufacturing cluster system and the “416” scientific and technological innovation layout. The comprehensive image area will focus on new technologies, new business forms, and new models in areas such as artificial intelligence, low-altitude economy, power equipment, and advanced materials.

In terms of investment and negotiation, this year’s fair has fully upgraded the global procurement matching mechanism. Special matchmaking sessions will be held around six major fields: intelligent connected new energy vehicles, modern logistics, health, new energy, food and agricultural product processing, and corporate overseas expansion. More than 100 high-quality enterprises from over 20 countries and regions, including Brazil, Myanmar, South Korea, and Malaysia, have been invited to publish procurement lists, with coverage extended for the first time to emerging markets such as Ghana, Kyrgyzstan, and Zimbabwe.

During the event, foreign investment activities such as the Chongqing Tour for Multinational Corporations and the European Enterprises Chongqing Tour and Industry Matchmaking Conference will be held. A series of international economic and trade events will also take place, including the Vietnam-China (Chongqing) Trade and Investment Promotion Conference and the Chongqing-ASEAN Investment and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Conference, allowing companies to connect with global resources and reach cooperation intentions without leaving the exhibition hall. The third Forum on High-Quality Development of Transnational Operations will also be held concurrently.

In terms of open exchanges, this year’s fair continues to expand its international “circle of friends.” As of now, nearly 1,400 enterprises and institutions from 50 countries and regions have registered to participate, with exhibitors from outside Chongqing accounting for over 50%. The guest country, the United Kingdom, will hold a UK-China (Chongqing) Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Conference and conduct on-site inspections. The guest city, Gyeonggi Province in South Korea, will hold a China-South Korea Economic and Trade Industry Cooperation Promotion Conference and jointly unveil the “China-South Korea Economic and Friendly Cooperation Center.”

Additionally, the New Silk Road National Economic and Trade Matchmaking Conference will be held, inviting chambers of commerce and economic and trade promotion agencies from 12 countries along the New Silk Road, including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, to jointly hold the “2026 Chongqing and New Silk Road Countries Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Conference,” covering core markets in ASEAN, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

In terms of consumption promotion, this year’s fair will host the “Hi Show · Meet Good Cars” intelligent connected new energy vehicle one-stop premiere carnival, gathering nearly 20 mainstream car brands to create an immersive experience from static displays to dynamic tests. The international and regional cooperation exhibition area will feature specialty products from over 30 countries and regions, allowing visitors to shop globally in one place. Simultaneously, the “Yu Wei 360 Bowls” food carnival and the International Sister Cities Food Culture Carnival will be held, creating new consumption scenarios for citizens and tourists to explore, shop, and taste.
