Around 3:40 a.m. on the 16th, four men believed to be in their 20s to 50s were found collapsed on a street in Machi 1-chome, bleeding from their heads. According to police, they were taken to the hospital, but none of their injuries are life-threatening.

Police are investigating the incident as an attempted murder.

According to the Shinjuku Police Station, about ten men allegedly struck the four victims multiple times with what appeared to be metal rods, causing injuries, and then fled in two or three vehicles. Police believe there was some kind of dispute between the four victims and the fleeing men, and are investigating the details.

The scene is in the Kabukicho entertainment district, an area dense with restaurants and bars.
