Hyderabad, Comparing the Congress and the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) to the Kauravas for opposing and preventing the passage of the Nari Shakti Vandan Amendment Bill introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government in Parliament, which provides 33 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president N. Ramchander Rao said that just as Lord Krishna protected the honor of women during Draupadi’s disrobing in the open court, Prime Minister Modi, like Lord Krishna, will certainly protect women’s honor and secure their rights.

Accusing the Congress and INDIA alliance of not allowing the women’s reservation amendment bill to pass in Parliament, a large number of women participated in a protest march from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) headquarters to Indira Park today. Addressing the gathering near Indira Park, Ramchander Rao said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Maricha, has no right to speak about the Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Comparison of the women’s reservation bill to the Mahabharata

Ramchander Rao said, referencing the disrobing of Draupadi in the Mahabharata, that just as Dushasana, Duryodhana, and the Kauravas were celebrating while witnessing the humiliation of a woman in the open court, similarly, the Congress and INDIA alliance were celebrating by slapping the tables after blocking the women’s reservation bill in Parliament. He said that just as Lord Krishna saved Draupadi from being humiliated, the Prime Minister will save women from humiliation by securing 33 percent reservation for them.

Ramchander Rao said that after snatching away women’s rights, the Congress and INDIA alliance were celebrating like the Kauravas, and on April 17, the anti-women face of the Congress has been exposed. Naming Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, he said that acting as puppets of George Soros, who intends to divide India, Rahul and Revanth have conspired to divide the country into North and South by engaging in anti-national politics. He assured that as long as the BJP exists, there will be no injustice against women.

Ramchander Rao also called the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) anti-women, stating that when former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was in power, not a single woman was given a place in the cabinet. Pointing to K. Kavitha, the president of Telangana Jagruthi, he said that even looking at the condition of a woman from KCR’s own family reveals their anti-women mentality.

Rahul, Revanth, Stalin, Asad, and KCR responsible for injustice to women

Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy expressed anger over the failure of the women’s reservation amendment bill in Parliament and said that the responsibility for preventing women from getting their rights lies with Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, and AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi. Recalling that when he was an MLA, the AIMIM opposed women’s reservation in local bodies in the assembly.

Kishan Reddy alleged that Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and former Chief Minister KCR opposed the women’s bill just to see the happiness in the eyes of AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, who was against the women’s bill in the Lok Sabha. He said that although the BRS has no members in Parliament, they still opposed the women’s bill from outside. He said that by blocking the bill, the Congress and INDIA alliance have insulted 70 crore women, and women from all parties should unite to form a political front.
