Holy Capital Municipality

The Holy Capital Municipality refers to the administrative region encompassing Mecca, Saudi Arabia, which is the holiest city in Islam. Its history is deeply tied to the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad and the Kaaba, the sacred structure towards which Muslims pray. As the site of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, the municipality has evolved from a historic trading center into a modern religious and cultural hub, managed by a special governorate to oversee millions of visitors.
