MANILA — Alleged bagman for Vice President Sara Duterte, Ramil Madriaga, has reportedly named specific individuals as contracted hitmen.

“It was an option from the very start. In fact, he has already named some contracted hitmen. I think it will come out in future testimonies, more will be revealed,” stated the Interior Secretary.

In a supplemental affidavit read by Madriaga during an impeachment hearing at the House Committee on Justice, he revealed an alleged assassination plot or coup by former president Rodrigo Duterte against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. should he not step down from office in 2025. This was immediately denied by the camp of Vice President Duterte.

According to the Secretary, there is always a threat to the life of President Marcos.

“There is always a credible threat against the President. It will never disappear, whether it comes from that camp or any other camp. The President is the most protected person in the Philippines, precisely because of the nature of his job,” the Secretary stated.

Meanwhile, the Secretary downplayed the threat made by Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte against President Marcos.

“I don’t think so. Well, some are offended. But it’s really nonsense. All talk, just talking and talking,” the Secretary stated.

The Secretary said that if the younger Duterte wants to lead the country, he should be more statesman-like.

At the launch of the Reform Alliance for Good Governance and Accountability (RAGE) Coalition, Baste accused the Marcos administration of corruption.

“We only need one head. The head of Bongbong Marcos,” Baste stated.
