Imsak is the time that marks the beginning for Muslims to refrain from eating, drinking, and other actions that invalidate the fast before the Fajr (Dawn) call to prayer is announced. Linguistically, imsak means “to refrain.” During Ramadan, this time serves as a reminder for a person to finish their pre-dawn meal (suhoor) before the dawn begins. Although it is not the absolute final limit for suhoor, the imsak schedule is compiled to help Muslims be more cautious in performing the fasting worship.

Entering the fifth day of fasting, Muslims in the Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi areas need to pay attention to the imsak schedule according to local time regulations. Differences in geographical location cause the imsak and Fajr times in each region to vary by several minutes. Therefore, knowing an accurate imsak schedule is an important step to ensure the fasting worship proceeds in an orderly manner and in accordance with the established times.
