Two perpetrators of motorcycle theft were subjected to firm and measured action (shot) in their legs for resisting and attempting to flee during arrest.
Both are MBH (19), a resident of Beringin Pasar 7, Tembung Village, Percut Seituan District, and MA (20), a resident of Jalan Datuk Kabu, Tembung, Percut Seituan.
The Medan Area Police Chief stated that the two suspects had operated at 15 crime scenes within the jurisdiction of the Medan City Police and surrounding areas.
The arrest of the two suspects was based on a report from victim Elpa Syahroni Nasution (31), a resident of Jalan Jermal XI, Graha Rahayu Complex, Denai Village, Medan Denai District.

The victim lost 1 green Yamaha Nmax motorcycle with license plate BK 4432 ALU on Sunday around 04:48 AM local time.
“The two suspects were arrested on Jalan Pasar 7 Beringin, Durian Alley, Tembung Village, Percut Seituan District on Friday, January 30,” the police chief explained.
Initially, the victim’s husband was riding the motorcycle home from a hangout spot not far from the house around 02:13 AM. The vehicle’s handlebar was locked, but the gate was not padlocked.
In the morning around 08:20 AM, the victim woke up and saw the motorcycle was gone. The victim then reported the incident and acknowledged a loss of Rp 34,000,000.
Based on that report, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Medan Area Police conducted an investigation which led to the successful arrest of the two suspects.
“We fired warning shots, but the two suspects resisted and tried to flee while the investigation was expanding to search for their accomplice with the initial D, so firm and measured action was taken to their legs,” the police chief stated.
During the investigation process, the two suspects confessed to having carried out over a dozen thefts.
“The suspects’ actions were recorded by CCTV and went viral on social media,” the police chief said.
Suspect MA operated at 10 crime scenes: first, theft of a black Honda Beat in 2023 on Jalan Menteng Raya; a black Beat on Jalan Tanjung Morawa in 2023; a black Vario with red trim on Jalan Letda Sudjono in 2023.
Then, theft of a black Beat on Jalan Denai in 2024; a black Beat on Jalan Delitua in 2024; a white Vario in 2025 on Jalan Denai; a black Beat on Jalan Delitua in 2025.
Subsequently, a white Vario and a black Beat in Lubuk Pakam in 2026; a black Honda Genio on Jalan SM Raja in 2026; and a black Yamaha Nmax on Jalan Jermal XI in 2026.
Meanwhile, suspect MBH operated at 5 crime scenes: a black Honda Beat on Jalan Be, Kurma Alley in 2017; a red Yamaha Mio on Jalan Bengkel in 2019.
Then, a blue Honda Beat on Jalan Prima in 2019; a white Mio on Jalan Makmur in 2020; and a grey Honda Scoopy in Mega City in 2022.
From the two suspects, evidence was seized: two black sweaters and 1 pair of black pants worn during the crimes, and Rp 200,000 in cash from the sale of the Nmax motorcycle.
