The Riyadh Region Municipality announced the full opening of the Al-Hayer Road Bridge at its intersection with Wadi Hanifa, as part of projects to improve the road network and enhance traffic efficiency south of the capital.
The project included the construction of a bridge 170 meters long and 15 meters wide
The Municipality clarified that the project included the construction of a bridge 170 meters long and 15 meters wide, containing 4 traffic lanes, alongside the development of Al-Hayer Road to improve traffic flow. It also involved implementing a secondary road from the Al-Ghanamiya neighborhood to connect residents to Al-Hayer Road, passing over the bridge, which enhances ease of movement and connectivity between neighboring districts.
It added that the project contributes to raising the level of traffic safety, improving traffic flow, and reducing conflict points, while also ensuring that rising water levels in Wadi Hanifa do not affect vehicle movement on the bridge, supporting continuous traffic flow on the road.
The opening of this bridge coincides with the operation of the Al-Ghanamiya neighborhood bridge, enhancing traffic connectivity with the Al-Hayer Road Bridge and supporting integrated movement along this corridor.
These works are part of the Riyadh Region Municipality’s direction to develop road networks in a way that supports urban development and raises the quality of life, in line with its vision of being a leading municipality for a prosperous and sustainable Riyadh that elevates the quality of life, and its mission to elevate Riyadh by promoting sustainable urban development, providing high-quality services, and building effective partnerships towards a vibrant community.
