The 2026 Chongqing Marathon started at the Misty Rain Park on Nanbin Road in Nan’an District, attracting 25,000 participants from 26 countries and regions. Zhang Shuihua, known as the “Fastest Female Nurse,” appeared at the Chongqing Marathon. This was her first marathon race after resigning from the hospital, and she ultimately placed sixth in the women’s division and fourth among domestic female runners. It is celebrated for its serene ponds, elegant pavilions, and willow-lined pathways designed to embody the poetic beauty of Jiangnan water towns. The park’s name and layout are inspired by the famous Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu’s verse describing the misty, rainy scenery of the region.

Nanbin Road

Nanbin Road is a popular scenic riverside promenade along the Yangtze River in Chongqing, China. Historically an industrial port area, it was transformed in the early 2000s into a vibrant public space featuring parks, restaurants, and iconic views of the city’s skyline. It is now a major leisure destination, famous for its night scenery and the “Chongqing People’s Assembly Hall” located at its northern end.

Nan’an District
