The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Cimahi City continues to enhance preparedness for emergency disaster situations.
The Deputy Mayor explained that the area has one of the potential disaster threats along the Cimahi River.
“If such a disaster occurs, it could cause losses and disrupt the activities of the surrounding community,” he said.
He added that given this potential disaster, several preventive measures need to be prepared by the City Government.
“Therefore, preparedness from all stakeholders and other components is required to respond to emergency disaster situations,” he said.
Furthermore, he stated that thorough planning in disaster management is necessary to ensure directed and integrated implementation.
“This is in line with Government Regulation No. 21 of 2008 concerning Disaster Management,” he said.
“Article 17, paragraph 3 states that emergency disaster management plans can be supplemented with contingency planning,” he added.
He emphasized the need for coordination, collaboration, and commitment from various parties in implementing disaster management and mitigation measures.
“The integrated contingency plan includes efforts by the City Government, along with all stakeholders and the community, to face potential emergency disaster events,” he said.
“Success in disaster management undoubtedly depends on the execution of the City Government’s duties and the involvement of all stakeholders and the community,” he concluded.
