A report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) stated that artificial intelligence has become a tool of growing importance for entrepreneurs in developing countries, where small and start-up companies rely on it in multiple fields. It simultaneously pointed to gaps in managerial understanding and technical skills for fully leveraging AI.
Many entrepreneurs reported the need for a better understanding of the business value of AI, including the types of problems it can solve, how to integrate it into a long-term business strategy, and the practical steps for its implementation.
The report clarified that the benefits of AI are not automatic, and that supportive systems and appropriate skills are essential elements for achieving real value.
