The Metropolitan Police Department announced on the 22nd that they have re-arrested a 75-year-old unemployed man, a former elementary school teacher and part-time cram school instructor, on suspicion of child prostitution violations (production). He has reportedly admitted to the allegations.

According to the Juvenile Development Division, the suspect is alleged to have, in October, taken photographs of a known male child under the age of 13 with his lower body exposed on a riverbed in Tokyo, thereby producing child pornography.

The suspect had previously been arrested on the 9th of this month on suspicion of non-consensual indecent acts, for allegedly making indecent advances while wrapping bandages after asking the boy, “Shall we try making a loincloth with bandages?”

From his home, at least 80,000 images and videos believed to show multiple boys naked, taken since 2007, were discovered. The division is investigating the circumstances.

Metropolitan Police Department

The Metropolitan Police Department (often called the Met) is the territorial police force responsible for Greater London, excluding the City of London. It was founded in 1829 by Sir Robert Peel, making it one of the earliest modern police forces and establishing the model for policing in Britain and beyond. Today, it is one of the largest police services in the world, headquartered at New Scotland Yard.

Juvenile Development Division

The Juvenile Development Division is not a specific historical or cultural site, but rather a common name for a government or social service agency. These divisions are typically part of a country’s justice or welfare system, focused on the rehabilitation and support of young offenders or at-risk youth. Their history generally aligns with modern reforms in juvenile justice, moving from punitive approaches toward more educational and developmental models in the 20th and 21st centuries.
