Turning pro while in his third year of high school. We got a close look at Nagoya Grampus’s promising new star, Soichiro Mori.

(Soichiro Mori)
“I’m still 18… I can’t really refuse, I’m grateful that they want to interview me.”

Nagoya Grampus’s high school J-Leaguer, Soichiro Mori. Behind the lingering boyishness of an 18-year-old lies a sense of ‘readiness’…

(Mori)
“It’s not that it comes with responsibility…”
“I think we have our own responsibilities.”
“You have to have a sense of responsibility and awareness.”
“And I think we absolutely have a duty to fulfill that responsibility.”

The view he’s gained from being in the professional world. And what was the major decision this high school senior made?

Nagoya Grampus

Nagoya Grampus is a professional Japanese football (soccer) club based in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. It was originally founded in 1939 as the company team for Toyota Motor Corporation, entering Japan’s top professional league, the J.League, under its current name in 1993. The club’s name “Grampus” refers to the orca (killer whale), a symbol of the city due to its prominence at the Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium.
