Ostankinsky District Court of Moscow
The Ostankinsky District Court of Moscow is a local court of general jurisdiction, established as part of Russia’s judicial system to handle civil, criminal, and administrative cases within its territorial district. While the specific building’s history is not widely documented in public sources, such district courts were fundamentally reorganized across Russia following the judicial reforms of the early 1990s after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
Moscow courts
The Moscow court system, as it exists today, traces its modern structure to judicial reforms in the 1990s following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, which established a more independent judiciary. It comprises a hierarchy of courts, including district courts, the Moscow City Court, and military courts, handling civil, criminal, and administrative cases. As the judicial center of Russia’s capital, these courts are central to the nation’s legal proceedings and have been the venue for many high-profile trials throughout recent history.
USSR
The USSR, or Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, was a federal socialist state that existed from 1922 to 1991, spanning much of Northern Eurasia. It emerged from the Russian Revolution, becoming a one-party state governed by the Communist Party and a global superpower during the Cold War. The union dissolved in 1991, fragmenting into 15 independent republics, including Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan.
