From November 24 to 26, the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress held the fifth 2025 national people’s congress deputies training session in Beijing. 212 deputies from 33 electoral units participated in the training focused on thoroughly studying and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee.
During the opening ceremony, relevant officials stated that studying and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session represents a major political task for both current and future periods. This training session aims to further guide and promote deputies to align their thoughts and actions with the plenary session spirit, leverage the NPC’s functional role in implementing the session’s strategic deployments, and contribute deputy strength toward achieving the 16th Five-Year Plan development goals and tasks. Deputies should take the lead in studying and promoting the plenary session spirit, maintain and improve the people’s congress system, prepare adequately for next year’s NPC session, strengthen ideological and work style development, achieve excellence in their professional positions, and fully demonstrate the qualities of NPC deputies in the new era.
The training session organized four special reports covering thorough study of the fifth volume of “Xi Jinping’s Governance of China,” in-depth implementation of the Fourth Plenary Session spirit, China’s economic and social development achievements during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and environmental code compilation work. Relevant department officials were invited to provide explanations, and practical exchange sessions were conducted.
