Residents were shocked by the discovery of a male body floating in the Cisadane River near Water Gate 10, Koang Jaya Village, Karawaci District, Tangerang City, around 8:00 AM.

The condition of the body appeared tragic. It is suspected that the body had been floating for quite some time.

There is no information yet regarding the identity or the initial chronology of how the body ended up in the Cisadane River.

Meanwhile, the Tangerang City Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Team Leader confirmed that they had evacuated the body of the unidentified man.

“The Water Gate 10 guard was startled by the discovery of a floating body in the Cisadane River,” he said.

The Head of Public Relations for the Metro Tangerang City Police, confirmed the discovery of the body floating in the Cisadane River.

“Yes, earlier this morning. Based on the condition, it appears the body had been there for about two days. The autopsy suggests the victim was a different person, suspected to have had mental health issues,” he stated.

He mentioned that over the past two days, the Metro Tangerang City Police had been evacuating drowning victims from the Cisadane River.

“Yesterday, we also evacuated a body near the glass bridge. Today, at Water Gate 10, we evacuated another in a decomposed state,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the victim was evacuated by the Karawaci Police Station officers and taken to Tangerang Regional Hospital for further investigation.

“Following the incident, the Karawaci Police Station duty team, led by the supervisor, arrived at the scene. The victim was then taken to the morgue,” he concluded.
