The woman admitted to the allegations, stating, “I was struggling with living expenses and had no money, so I ended up stealing.”

It is suspected that around 4:20 PM on November 18, at the Aeon Nayoro Shopping Center in Tokuda, Nayoro City, the woman stole a total of seven items, including agedashi tofu, packaged milk, and oyako-don bento, with a total retail value of 2,350 yen.

According to police, the woman entered a restroom with the stolen items in a shopping cart basket, transferred them to her own eco-bag, and then left the store.

A security guard witnessed her exiting the store without paying and confronted her, leading to the discovery.

Police are investigating the detailed methods and motives.
