Fresh fruit bunch (FFB) palm oil prices in North Sumatra slightly decreased to Rp 3,400 from last week’s Rp 3,420/kg.

The highest price is still received by farmers in Mandailing Natal Regency, while the lowest price is in Langkat Regency at Rp 2,695/kg.

In detail, FFB prices in 15 palm oil producing regions in North Sumatra this week are:

3. Serdang Bedagai Rp 3,040/kg
4. Simalungun Rp 2,750/kg
5. Batubara Rp 2,800/kg
6. Asahan Rp 2,750/kg
7. North Labuhanbatu Rp 2,730/kg
8. Labuhanbatu Rp 2,700/kg
9. South Labuhanbatu Rp 2,750/kg
10. North Padanglawas Rp 2,870/kg
11. Padanglawas Rp 3,065/kg
12. South Tapanuli Rp 2,830/kg
13. Central Tapanuli Rp 2,900/kg
14. Mandailing Natal Rp 3,400/kg
15. Pakpak Bharat Rp 2,860/kg

Meanwhile, the average FFB price in palm oil producing regions in North Sumatra this week ranges from Rp 3,400 to Rp 2,860, compared to last week’s range of Rp 3,420 to 2,860/kg.

According to sources, when looking at prices in producing regions, overall they are still far from farmers’ ideal price. “Because currently the price should be above Rp 3,000/kg,” they stated.

It was mentioned that when observing FFB price movements up to this week, they are lower compared to last year. “We’re approaching the end of the year but the movement is quite slow,” they noted.
