Godse Photo Displayed During Shobha Yatra In Hyderabad: On Guruwara (March 30), a procession led by a prominent leader of the BJP was taken out in Hyderabad. During this event, a picture of Nathuram Godse, known for the assassination of Gandhiji, was prominently displayed. This Shobha Yatra was organized under the leadership of a BJP minister. Those pulling the chariot were seen placing Godse’s picture on some sections and prominently displaying it. Slogans were also written during the Yatra. The Shobha Yatra started from the temple of Sitarambagh and was welcomed by the party supporters at various junctions across the city.
For the Yatra in Hyderabad, police had deployed security forces along the route. The Hyderabad police had taken stock of the situation. Along with this, the police had also installed cameras and drones to monitor the procession’s progress. Hyderabad police commissioner C.V. Anand had ensured tight security using integrated command and control centers to monitor the situation.
Preparation Made For Security Against Violence
Meanwhile, the police had organized a large security deployment on January 29 for anti-violence measures. During the same period, a rally planned in Mumby was prepared to prevent potential violence stemming from the Hindu-Muslim social fabric. Earlier, the police had implemented curfew measures and shut down on several gatherings. Reports state that the Hyderabad police had previously organized workshops for communal harmony and coached officials to avoid any violence or tension related to inflammatory speeches. After 25 August, they observed increased arrangements after adhering to a Pee Dee administration following the BJP party’s blueprint.
Curfew Was Imposed Post Two Months
Following the violence, the event had calmed itself due to heavy police presence. Legal advice was given to not incite violence or make inflammatory speeches, thus maintaining community peace. Previously, several months ago, certain groups in the district added seats and forms to create a riotous situation amid communal lines and to punish communal elements. It is known that for some advice given over the years, the actions of the Hyderabad police were tracked to create harmony. Subsequent probes saw the BJP party navigating the communal resistance proceedings.
