The 61st Anniversary celebration of the Golkar Party in North Sumatra was marked by the absence of two important figures from the party symbolized by the banyan tree: the Chairwoman of the North Sumatra DPRD Erni Ariyanti Sitorus and the Chairman of the North Labuhanbatu Golkar DPD Hendri Yanto Sitorus, who are rumored to be planning to run for Chairman of the North Sumatra Golkar DPD.

Neither of them were seen at the main celebration event held by the North Sumatra Golkar DPD at Pasar Kamu, Pantai Labu Subdistrict, Deliserdang Regency.

This event was an important moment for party consolidation ahead of the Golkar Party’s internal political agenda in North Sumatra.

The absence of these two figures has sparked speculation among cadres and sympathizers, especially since Hendri Yanto is rumored to be a strong challenger to Musa Rajekshah (Ijeck) in the race for the North Sumatra Golkar DPD chairmanship.

Nevertheless, Ijeck responded casually to the news. “Maybe they are busy, busy with the community,” he said lightly when met during the event.

Thousands of people attended the anniversary celebration held in the people’s economic tourism area. The event featured an exhibition and an MSME bazaar as a form of Golkar’s support for strengthening the local economy.

According to Ijeck, this year’s Golkar anniversary festivities were held simultaneously across all regencies and cities in North Sumatra, following instructions from the Chairman of the Golkar Party Central Executive Board.

“The Chairman ordered that the Golkar Anniversary be celebrated in all regions with activities that directly touch the community,” he said.

Ijeck emphasized that Golkar wants to show that the party’s anniversary commemoration is not just ceremonial, but a real form of siding with the people’s welfare.

“We are collaborating with MSMEs as proof that the Golkar Party is close to the community and supports President Prabowo Subianto’s program in building the economy from the villages,” he said.

On that occasion, Ijeck also mentioned the internal party dynamics ahead of the election for the North Sumatra Golkar DPD Chairman. He asserted that Golkar must not get caught up in politics of cadres undermining each other.

“Doing politics in Golkar is not for competing, let alone splitting. What’s important is how we are present among the community and work for their interests,” he stressed.

The event was also attended by representatives from other political parties in North Sumatra, signaling Golkar’s commitment to maintaining cross-party communication channels in the region.
