U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that he understands the Russian president might be trying to buy time in the Ukraine conflict, while also considering that Vladimir Putin wants to reach an agreement to stop the war.
When asked if he was concerned about the possibility of Putin seeking to buy time, Trump responded: “Yes, I am.”
He added during a press conference while hosting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House: “That’s possible. Yes, some time. But I think I’m skilled in these kinds of matters. I think he wants to make a deal.”
