Bangalore Auto Drivers’ Strike: The Bengaluru Auto Drivers’ Union Federation has declared a «day of protest» against Rapido and other whiteboard and e-bike taxi services. Various associations are demanding a ban on bike taxis, claiming they threaten the livelihood of auto-rickshaw drivers. Protests are also planned at the Majesty bus stop. The union insists that auto drivers should not be forced off their stands.

The federation’s managing director stated that no action has been taken against illegal Rapido services, and auto drivers remain determined to continue their strike. Bike taxi services have severely impacted auto drivers’ earnings, causing significant financial losses, which the government has ignored. Protesters argue that bike taxis are leaving young people unemployed and urge college students to avoid using these services.
