Jhansi: The body of an eight-year-old boy was found under suspicious circumstances in a pile of grass in the Mauranipur area of Jhansi district, Uttar Pradesh. The child had been missing since Saturday afternoon.

Police sources stated on Sunday that Mukesh, son of Chakara village resident Rajendra Kushwaha, went missing on Saturday afternoon when his parents had gone to work in the fields. They reported that police were informed of the child’s disappearance late in the evening, and a search operation was launched with the help of local residents.

Police reported that late at night, the child’s body was recovered under suspicious circumstances from a grass pile inside his home compound. Sources said a forensic team was called to collect evidence from the scene, and the body has been sent for postmortem. The Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural) stated that one person has been detained for questioning in this case. He said action will be taken based on the postmortem report and investigation findings.
