Tycoon Tram returns with a series of billion-dollar projects; what is the company's potential?

As previously reported, leaders of Vinh Long province recently held a working session with Ham Giac Construction Company Limited to hear a report on the progress of the Dinh An general wharf area project and other projects proposed for investment by the enterprise in the province.

According to the report, Ham Giac Construction Company Limited is implementing 4 projects in the province with a total area of about 468 hectares and total investment of nearly 6,000 billion VND, including: the Dinh An general wharf area project; the Tra Cu – Tra Vinh port construction project; the infrastructure construction project for a residential area and seafood services; and the industrial park project belonging to Tra Cu port.

Among them, the Dinh An general wharf area project is the largest in scale, with a total investment of 4,804 billion VND and an area of 125.04 hectares.

The representative of the project investor – Ham Giac Construction Company Limited – was introduced as a businessman who once had significant influence in the business world.

After serving two criminal sentences, Tram Be has returned to business activities in recent years. His family previously owned and controlled many enterprises and banks; however, after changes, the structure and level of influence have shifted considerably.

Currently, Tram Be is quite reserved with the media.

The scarce information about him is mainly associated with Trieu An Hospital, where he serves in a leadership role.

Recently, he appeared again as the representative of the investor for projects in Vinh Long, as mentioned above.

According to data from the national business registration system, Ham Giac Construction Company Limited has a charter capital of up to 1,000 billion VND. The company’s capital increase occurred strongly in 2023.

Among this, Khai Thinh Tra Vinh Joint Stock Company holds 50% of shares, equivalent to 500 billion VND. One individual holds 30%, followed by two other individuals, each contributing a 10% share.

This enterprise operates mainly in the field of civil and industrial construction, and port construction and operation. It is currently led by a Chairman of the Members’ Council and General Director.

At the private general hospital joint stock company, as of the end of September 2025, total assets exceeded 1,000 billion VND. Among this, after-tax retained earnings were 122 billion VND.

According to documents from the 2025 shareholders’ meeting, the hospital set a revenue target of 820 billion VND and a pre-tax profit of 69 billion VND.

Tycoon Tram Be is investing in and implementing many projects in Vinh Long. However, these projects are currently behind schedule, so provincial leaders have visited the site to discuss ways to resolve the issues.
