At 8:00 PM on June 7, the final group stage matches of Group A will take place: U19 Vietnam vs U19 Indonesia and U19 Myanmar vs U19 Timor-Leste.
Both matches will be broadcast live on TV360. The Vietnam vs Indonesia match is also available for live streaming.
After two matches, U19 Vietnam temporarily leads Group A. Coach Yutaka Ikeuchi’s team has the same 6 points as U19 Indonesia but sits above them due to a superior goal difference (+8 compared to +6).
Therefore, a draw in the final match will guarantee a spot in the semifinals as group winners.
This is a task well within the capabilities of the young Vietnamese players. The “Golden Star Warriors” have scored 8 goals and conceded none after two matches.
However, Indonesian football has never been an easy opponent for Vietnam at any level. Additionally, they will be playing with the support of a large home crowd.
Thus, the team needs to start cautiously and seize their opportunities to finish the group stage at the top.
The 2026 U19 Southeast Asian Championship takes place from June 1 to 14 in Indonesia with 11 participating teams. Group A includes Vietnam, Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and Myanmar. Group B consists of Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei. Group C includes Australia, Cambodia, and the Philippines.
Teams play a single round-robin format for points. The three group winners and the best-performing runner-up will advance to the semifinals.
Head coach Nova Arianto of U19 Indonesia urges his players to maintain high concentration to secure a victory against U19 Vietnam.
