Da Nang International Terminal T2 has once again been awarded the 5-star rating by Skytrax in 2026, marking the third consecutive year this terminal has received the highest ranking for airport terminals.

On April 12, the International Passenger Terminal (T2) announced that the international aviation assessment organization Skytrax has released its annual evaluation, recognizing Terminal T2 as meeting the 5-star standard for 2026.

According to Skytrax’s report, Terminal T2 continues to maintain service quality in many core categories such as terminal space, waiting areas, cleanliness, passenger information systems, and amenities.

However, the Skytrax report also noted that the pressure from passenger growth, especially during peak hours, could directly impact the passenger experience if infrastructure expansion is not timely.

In reality, during 2025, Terminal T2 served over 6.8 million passengers, exceeding its design capacity of 4 million passengers per year by more than 70%.

The rapid increase in traffic places significant pressure on operational capacity and service quality.

Facing the pressure of overcapacity, Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation JSC (AHT, the operator of Terminal T2), stated that it is implementing a plan to increase the terminal’s capacity from 4 to 6 million passengers per year in the coming period.

The Deputy General Director of AHT stated that maintaining the 5-star standard for three consecutive years is a challenge in the context of rapidly increasing passenger numbers and rising demands for infrastructure and service quality.

According to him, terminal expansion is a necessary condition to maintain international service standards and meet the growing expectations of passengers, while also contributing to preserving Da Nang’s image as an international aviation gateway.

Parallel to increasing capacity, the operator aims to develop the terminal according to an experiential model, integrating local cultural elements into the service space.

Activities such as art exhibitions, performances, and heritage touchpoints are being studied for implementation along the passenger journey within the terminal…
