King Abdulaziz International Airport

King Abdulaziz International Airport, located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is a major international gateway named after the kingdom’s founder. It was officially opened in 1981 to serve pilgrims traveling to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. The airport has since undergone significant expansions, including a new terminal specifically designed for Hajj pilgrims, to accommodate the region’s growing air traffic.

Kuwait International Airport

Kuwait International Airport is the primary international airport of Kuwait, originally opened in the 1920s as a landing strip for the British Royal Air Force. It was significantly expanded and modernized in the late 20th century, most notably with the construction of its iconic main terminal, which was designed by renowned architect Kenzo Tange and opened in 1980.

Two Holy Mosques

The Two Holy Mosques refer to the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, which houses the Kaaba (Islam’s holiest site), and the Prophet’s Mosque (Al-Masjid an-Nabawi) in Medina. Their history is deeply intertwined with the origins of Islam, with the former being a pilgrimage site since the time of Prophet Abraham and the latter being built by Prophet Muhammad himself in 622 CE. These sites are the focal points of the annual Hajj pilgrimage and have been continuously expanded over centuries to accommodate millions of worshippers.
