The Infrastructure Projects Center in the Riyadh region conducted a comprehensive oversight campaign during May 2026, which included more than 31,000 inspection tours of infrastructure project sites within the city of Riyadh and its governorates. These tours aimed to improve implementation quality and enhance safety standards and compliance with prevailing regulations.
Results of the Inspection Tours
The tours resulted in the recording of more than four thousand violations documented across various sites. During the same period, the center received over 19,000 reports from citizens and relevant authorities regarding infrastructure work, and these reports were handled in coordination with the concerned entities to ensure prompt and effective resolution of field observations.
Types of Recorded Violations
The violations observed by inspectors varied, including non-compliance with the project signboard, poor cleanliness levels at work sites, and storage of materials and equipment outside the permitted license area. Violations also included failure to adhere to the specifications of identification signage on temporary barriers, in addition to the absence of required warning lighting according to approved standards.
Integrated Oversight Efforts
These measures are part of an integrated oversight system managed by the center, aimed at raising the level of compliance with the infrastructure projects code, improving implementation quality, and enhancing safety at work sites. These efforts seek to bring about tangible improvement in the urban landscape and quality of life in targeted areas within Riyadh.
Impact of Quality and Safety Compliance
By enhancing adherence to standards and regulations, the center aims to create a positive impact on the urban environment and strengthen trust in public infrastructure projects. The recorded results underscore the importance of continuous monitoring and effective oversight to ensure project execution that guarantees the highest levels of quality and safety for citizens.
