Report on the First Psychological First Aid Course Organized by the Foster Families Unit

The Foster Family Unit held a training course titled “First Aid for Mental Health” on Wednesday and Thursday, November 27 and 28, in collaboration with the National Center for Mental Health Promotion. The course targeted employees of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to enhance their abilities to handle mental health crises that may occur during their duties.

The course covered comprehensive topics, including:
• Identifying the initial symptoms of psychological stress and crises.
• Strategies for initial psychological intervention.
• Communication skills to alleviate tension.
• How to refer cases to specialized entities when needed.

The course received significant interaction from the participants who praised the importance of these skills in improving the quality of services provided to beneficiaries, affirming that such programs contribute to enhancing the work environment and supporting their mental health and that of those they interact with.
