The company’s press service reported this. It is noted that the restrictions will not affect the sending of letters.

The issue is that starting August 29, the United States is canceling a customs rule. This rule allowed duty-free import of parcels valued up to $800. However, now all goods, regardless of country, will be subject to taxes and go through customs control. The exception is parcels valued up to $100. They will remain duty-free.

It was noted that the procedure for paying import taxes remains unclear at the moment. All efforts are currently being made to resume postal exchange as soon as possible.

  • Japan also warned of possible delays or returns of parcels. Authorities promised to share additional information when it becomes available.
  • Deutsche Post and DHL Parcel Germany are also temporarily suspending “the acceptance and transportation of business customer parcels through the postal network to the USA”. The DHL Express service remains available.
