Recessions and economic crises depend not only on interest rates but also on psychology. This was stated during the plenary session “Financial System: Challenges and Tasks” at the Moscow Financial Forum – 2025, which opened at the Central Exhibition Hall “Manege”.
“We know that all recessions and crises are not just a matter of rates, it’s a matter of psychology. If you feel bad, bad, bad, then that’s how it will be. If we hope for the good mood, life will be more cheerful. That’s for sure,” it was said.
The Moscow Financial Forum was first held in the capital on September 23, 2016. The organizers are the Ministry of Finance and the city government.
Moscow Financial Forum
The Moscow Financial Forum is an annual international conference established in 2017, serving as a key platform for discussing Russia’s economic policy, fiscal issues, and global financial trends. It brings together government officials, financial experts, and business leaders to debate and formulate strategies for the nation’s socioeconomic development.
Central Exhibition Hall “Manege”
The Central Exhibition Hall “Manege” is a historic neoclassical building in Moscow, originally constructed in 1817 to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Russia’s victory over Napoleon. It served as a royal riding school and drill hall before being repurposed in the 1950s to become one of the city’s most prestigious and largest exhibition spaces for major art and cultural shows.
