The Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow has seized the property of Yabloko party deputy chairman Maxim Kruglov. The court’s press service reported this information. The specific assets that were seized have not been disclosed.
Mr. Kruglov is accused of spreading false information about the Russian Armed Forces. According to the investigation, the deputy chairman published two posts in 2022 containing false information about actions by Russian soldiers against Ukrainian civilians. The posts referenced events in the city of Bucha and the number of civilian casualties in Mariupol according to UN data.
The deputy was arrested on October 2. Maxim Kruglov did not admit guilt and considered the charges unfounded. The defense insisted on a more lenient preventive measure. Yabloko party leader Nikolai Rybakov proposed releasing Mr. Kruglov on bail.
