The State Public Institution “Administrator of Moscow Parking Space” (AMPP) has received over 500 applications from Moscow residents for the installation of yard barriers, according to the institution’s press service. Work will begin in October-November.
In May, the capital’s transport department announced a simplification of the process for installing locking devices in courtyards (they are installed to free up parking spaces for local residents). Previously, the procedure took several stages. Residents had to conduct a vote themselves, submit an application and a ready barrier project to the municipality. Then it was necessary to collect funds for the installation of the device (the city co-financed the work with 100 thousand rubles) and only after that install it at their own expense.
In May, a simplified scheme was introduced: AMPP checks the possibility of installing a barrier and prepares a layout plan for its placement, and the management company conducts a survey of homeowners in the “Electronic House” system.
The innovations have raised numerous questions in district and building chats. Residents, in particular, are interested in who and how much should pay for the barrier, under what conditions, etc. “In accordance with the new conditions, the installation of the barrier and the first year of maintenance will be free, then a fee will be charged only for maintenance,” AMPP reported. “Rates will be set and agreed with residents during a repeated general meeting of owners. Employees of ‘Moscow Parking’ interact with prefectures on an ongoing basis and provide additional clarifications if necessary.”
