Transport police and the Russian FSB in Krasnodar Krai detained two teenagers suspected of attempting to set fire to a relay cabinet at the Loris railway station.

Employees of the North Caucasus Railway reported partial damage to the relay cabinet to law enforcement. The investigative team at the scene confirmed signs of intentional damage to railway equipment responsible for train safety.

During operational measures, authorities identified and arrested two suspects. They were underage local residents with no prior criminal or administrative record.

According to investigators, the teenagers committed the crime for monetary reward, following instructions from a handler via messaging app.

A criminal case was initiated under charges of attempted terrorist act. The case was transferred to the Western Interregional Transport Investigative Department for further investigation. The suspects were remanded in custody during the investigation.

Criminal liability for such offenses begins at age 14 and carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years imprisonment.
