A boy with multiple fractures, injuries, and internal bleeding was delivered to the Labinsk Central District Hospital.
The teenager was admitted to the medical facility after a car accident. Examination revealed that the victim had a ruptured spleen.
Typically, with such injuries in adults, surgeons remove the damaged organ. Since a child’s body recovers faster and better than an adult’s, specialists decided to choose a different method that allows preserving the spleen.
“After all emergency examinations were conducted, specialists at the Labinsk Hospital decided to perform conservative hemostatic therapy for the teenager. That is, the patient’s bleeding was literally ‘stopped’ without surgery using medications under constant ultrasound and CT monitoring.”
Thanks to this method, the teenager’s spleen was preserved. The schoolboy is now under doctors’ observation, and his life is not in danger.
