Krasnodar, August 23Cleanup efforts are underway at Berezhnogo Cave in Sochi. The cave is located in the village of Yermolovka in the Adler district within the boundaries of Sochi National Park.

According to reports, cavers discovered the underground trash based on tips from local residents. An unauthorized dump was found at a depth of 30 meters. The area is only accessible using climbing equipment. Preliminary estimates indicate approximately 200 cubic meters of waste need to be removed.

The operation is being carried out by Sochi National Park in collaboration with “Kuban-SPAS”.

Federal legislation establishes liability for organizing dumps in specially protected natural areas. Caused damage is subject to compensation.
