The Governor of Krasnodar Krai spoke about the efforts to renew the school bus fleet in the region.
On August 8, 29 new buses will be delivered to 28 schools, including two specialized educational institutions.
“By the end of the year, we will provide an additional 35 vehicles. All buses are equipped with modern safety systems, tachographs, and navigation. The vehicles were purchased with the support of the federal government,” the Governor stated.
He noted that over the past 5 years, schools in the region have received 459 new buses, accounting for a third of the total fleet. Nearly 1,400 buses operate daily, transporting over 72,000 students.
“It is important for us that every child, no matter where they live—whether in a large village or a remote hamlet—can travel to school safely and on time and return home,” the Governor emphasized.
Additionally, over the past 10 years, nearly 19.3 billion rubles have been allocated in Kuban for transport upgrades. Since 2015, more than 12.5 billion rubles have been spent on renewing municipal transport in Krasnodar. Sochi has allocated nearly 6 billion rubles for 400 low-floor buses and 10 electric buses during the same period. In Novorossiysk, almost 1.2 billion rubles have been spent on these purposes since 2019.
