Inspectors examined a batch of fresh tomatoes arriving at the seaport of Tuapse from Turkey.

During the quarantine phytosanitary control, a South American tomato moth was detected in the cargo weighing 20.4 tons. The viability of the pest was confirmed in an official conclusion by specialists.

To prevent the spread of the quarantine object across the territory of Russia, the release of the infected batch was completely blocked. The owners of the cargo sent the tomatoes for quarantine phytosanitary disinfection.
