KIKARANG — The Bekasi Regency Tax Agency continues to intensify tax collection from taxpayers in mid-2025 as part of efforts to prevent regional financial deficits.
The Head of Bapenda Bekasi Regency stated that her office is taking active steps by conducting field visits, particularly to track down taxpayers who are difficult to collect from.
«We have issued warnings to several tax objects, such as diners and restaurants. We placed warning stickers, regardless of whether they have paid or not,» she said.
To improve tax collection efficiency, the Head of Bapenda is collaborating with the Bekasi District Prosecutor’s Office, providing legal consultations for enforcement in accordance with the prosecutor’s authority.
«For those who remain stubborn—after three warnings but still refuse to pay—we send a letter to the prosecutor’s office. The prosecutor’s office then contacts them, and fortunately, this method has been very effective,» she added.
She hopes that residents registered as taxpayers will fulfill their tax obligations, as taxes contribute significantly to Bekasi Regency’s revenue.
«Our regional revenue is partly generated from taxes. Therefore, we hope everyone can become a responsible taxpayer,» she concluded.
