Rajasthan: PM Modi flags off three trains, including ‘Vande Bharat’
New Delhi — Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated multiple development projects worth over ₹1,22,100 crore in Banswara, Rajasthan. During the event, PM Modi flagged off three new trains. These include the ‘Vande Bharat’ train between Jodhpur and Delhi Cantt, another ‘Vande Bharat’ train between Bikaner and Delhi Cantt, and a 22-coach LHP train between Udaipur and Chandigarh. The Prime Minister also distributed over 15,000 appointment letters.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed a large public gathering. He stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party government is focused on development works. PM Modi said that under the leadership of the double-engine government, Rajasthan is continuously reaching new heights. The inauguration and foundation stone laying of development works worth thousands of crores from Banswara today is a significant step towards the progress of the state.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi said, «A major event related to power generation is happening here today. A new chapter of India’s strength in the power sector is being written from the land of Rajasthan… The simultaneous launch of projects worth over ₹90,000 crore shows that the country is progressing at a rapid pace today.»
PM Modi further said, «When you gave me the opportunity to serve in 2014, there were 2.5 crore households in the country without an electricity connection. There were 18,000 villages where even an electricity pole had not been installed… We have taken electricity to every village in the country. We have provided free electricity connections to 2.5 crore households. Wherever the power lines reached, electricity also reached.»
