MANILA – Top local and international triathletes will compete in the IRONMAN 70.3 Philippines on August 10 in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

The prestigious event features a challenging 1.9 km swim, 90 km bike ride, and 21 km run.

South African Henri Schoeman, a bronze medalist at the 2016 Rio Olympics, won the men’s title last year. Dutch athlete Els Visser claimed victory in the women’s division.

IRONMAN 70.3 Philippines was named Best Spectator Race in 2018 and has since become a highlight of the international triathlon calendar.

Known as the Crown Jewel of Asia, the competition offers a unique course through the crystal-clear waters of Mactan Island, a scenic cycling route, and a festive yet demanding run—delivering an unparalleled racing experience.

Several side events will take place before the main race, including the 2GO Reyna Bulakna Run (August 8 at Liberty Shrine)—a 5 km fun run open to participants aged 5 and above; the RLC Residences IRONKIDS (August 9 at Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort) for ages 6 to 15; and the Sunrise Sprint (August 10)—a shorter distance race (750m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run) for beginners and recreational athletes.
