BAGUIO CITY – The Department of Agriculture– Cordillera Administrative Region (DA-CAR) advised farmers in the region to report weather-related damage to their crops, farms, and equipment to allow the government to assess the needed assistance.
“Please inform us of your situation so we can take immediate action, especially in assisting recovery efforts if you have incurred damage,” the DA-CAR executive director said.
Farmers can submit their reports to the barangay agriculture extension worker or their respective Municipal Agriculture Office.
Farmers, livestock raisers, and others in the sector are asked to provide details such as the farm location, type of crop planted, land area, growth stage of crops or fruits, affected area, type of livestock raised, number of animals affected, their age or stage, type of damaged machinery, extent of damage, and estimated cost.
The information must include photos with a watermark containing the person’s name for identification.
“They must provide their Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) number to receive assistance,” the director added.
The DA has emphasized the need for farmers to register with the RSBSA, a key requirement for accessing government aid.
The RSBSA helps the government gather accurate data to guide decisions regarding the agriculture industry.
Farmers were urged to submit reports as early as possible to enable the DA to make timely recommendations for assistance.
